Welcome to Bethlehem Covenant's online ministry.

The sermon for Nov. 11th is titled, "Building the House of the Lord."  The text is from Haggai 1 and 2 and it describes the return of people from exile and their desire to rebuild the temple of the Lord.  They get it started, the foundation is laid, but then the project is halted for 14 years.  They are concerned only for themselves and their own houses, their own needs, rather than the things of God.  The prophet Haggai has a message for the people: "Build the house of the Lord.  Be strong all you people of the land and work.  For I am with you.  My Spirit remains among you.  Do not fear."  This is a message we need to hear today as we seek to build up our churches in this world.

Here are some upcoming events on our calendar:

Bible Study--Thursday Nov. 15th at 7pm.  We are studying the gospel of John.

Meal with the Minister--Wednesday, November 14th at 12 noon.  Pastor Dave will provide the soup/stew, chips and drink.  Let us know if you need a ride.  All are welcome!

Movie Night—Sat. November 17th.  We will be watching “The Rookie.”  Jim Morris (Dennis Quaid) strikes an intriguing bargain with the Texas high school baseball team he coaches: If they make the playoffs, he'll try out for a pitcher position with a big league team. The high schoolers hold up their end of the deal, and, against great odds, Morris makes the team, fulfilling his lifelong dream.  Based on a true story.  Rated G.  We will meet for pizza at 5:30pm (sign up downstairs if you are coming for pizza) and the movie will start around 6pm.  Discussion time will follow.

Congregational Annual Meeting--Nov. 18th following the morning worship service.  This is the first part of our annual meeting.

Community Thanksgiving Eve Service--at Bethlehem Covenant on Wednesday, Nov. 21st at 7pm.  Rev. Gloria Connery will be preaching and Pastor Dave will lead the worship service.

Welcome to Bethlehem Covenant's online ministry.

The sermon for Nov. 4th is titled, "Righteousness Is a Gift, Not an Accomplishment."  It is based on the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector in Luke chapter 18.  The Pharisee, this supposedly holy religious leader of the day was proud of himself--glad that he was not a sinner like the tax collector who cheated others out of money.  He wasn't afraid to boast about himself.  The tax collector on the other hand knew he was a sinner and he was repentant and asked God for mercy.  Jesus says it is this sort of person who is justified (made right) with God.

Here are some upcoming events on our calendar:

Bible Study--Thursday Nov. 8th at 7pm.  We are studying the gospel of John.

Praise and Worship team rehearsal--Tues. Nov. 6th at 6:30pm.

Welcome to Bethlehem Covenant's online ministry.

The sermon for Oct. 21st was called "All Scripture is Useful."  Paul tells the young church leader Timothy that "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the person of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."  Paul's point in the passage (2 Timothy 3:14-4:5) is that all of Scripture is useful for us and relevant to us.  The Bible matters (or should matter) to us in our daily living.  We can't prove the Bible is God's word--we don't have to.  We just need to live it out and see for ourselves.  Let's live it in our lives and we will see that it is relevant and useful for us here, now, today.

Here are some upcoming events on our calendar:

Bible Study--Thursday Oct. 18th at 7pm.  We are studying the gospel of John.

Welcome to Bethlehem Covenant's online ministry.

Last Sunday's sermon on Luke 17:11-19 was called, "An Entire Starting Lineup of Ungrateful People."  Jesus meets and then heals 10 lepers.  He tells them to go show themselves to the priests (the common practice after a healing).  They go on their way and sure enough, on the way, they are all healed.  One of them immediately returns to Jesus and falls at His feet and gives him thanks and praise.  The other nine, an entire baseball team's worth of healed people, do not give Jesus thanks.  Jesus wonders why this is the case.  How often are we among the nine instead of the one?  We have much to be thankful for.  Part of our thankfulness to God is our blessing others.

Welcome to Bethlehem Covenant's online ministry.

Last Sunday's sermon was called, "The Fellowship of the Suffering."  The Apostle Paul writes to Timothy and tells him to "join with me in suffering for the gospel" (2 Tim. 1:8).  Churches should be a place where the suffering, those going through pain and difficulties, can find fellowship and support.  Churches are in part "the fellowship of the suffering" if they are doing what they are supposed to do.  We are to minister to those in need and we can use the suffering and pain we have gone through to help others get through it as well.

Here are some upcoming events on our calendar:
