Welcome to Bethlehem Covenant's online ministry.

The sermon title for January 27th is called: "Unity in the Church."  This sermon deals with unity in the church--obviously.  Many little things divide Christians, or have the potential to divide us.  What keeps us united?  The early church had divisions, so we are not alone.  Paul tells us to focus on the cross of Christ rather than on our different tastes or opinions.

Here are some upcoming events on our calendar:

There will be no Bible study this week.  We will resume next Thursday.

Ash Wednesday Service—here at Bethlehem on February 6th.  The service will be at 7pm.  This is a combined worship service with our friends from our sister church, Salem Covenant in Worcester.

The second part of our congregational annual meeting will take place after the worship service on February 10th.  Annual reports will be presented at this time and any other new business will be discussed.  Please have annual reports to Sue Strozina by Sunday Feb. 3rd if possible.

Welcome to Bethlehem Covenant's online ministry.

The sermon title for January 13th is: "Jesus, the Compassionate Servant."  This sermon is from Isaiah 42 where God describes the Messiah, Jesus as someone who is compassionate and gracious: "a bruised reed he will not break and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out."  We may feel like that--like a bruised reed or smoldering wick about to be extinguished.  But Jesus does not give up on us and He will not let us go.  Praise God for that--that He is with us through our troubles.

Here are some upcoming events on our calendar:

Bible Study--Thursday at church at 7pm.  We are studying the gospel of John.  All are welcome.

Meal with the Minister--Our next soup luncheon for this season will be held on Wednesday, January 23rd at 12 noon.  Pastor Dave will provide the soup/stew, chips and drink.  If you would like to bring a dessert to share, please let Pastor Dave know.  All who can come are welcome, and if you need a ride, let us know and we can arrange that.

Movie Night--Saturday January 26th.  The movie will be “Dead Man Walking.”  Scheduled to be put to death for brutally slaying two teens, Matthew Poncelet (Sean Penn) seeks the aid of activist nun Helen Prejean (Susan Sarandon), a death-penalty opponent.  She becomes Matthew's spiritual adviser and tries to halt the execution, even though Matthew's professed innocence is dubious.  As the execution date draws ever closer, Sister Helen works to save Matthew's soul by getting him to confess—and to ask divine forgiveness.  The movie is rated R for some violence.

We will meet at church at 5:30pm for pizza and begin the movie around 6pm.  Discussion time will follow.

Welcome to Bethlehem Covenant's online ministry.

The sermon title for Dec. 30th is: "Getting Back to Normal?"  Christmas is now over--we can all get back to our normal routine, our normal lifestyle.  For many of us, this is probably a welcome return to our "regular" life.  But if Jesus whose birth we just celebrated really has come into our world, if He really is our Savior, then how can things just simply return to "normal"?  With the coming of the Christ Child, everything is different.  May we take this opportunity to learn and grow and be different--to not just go back to our normal, daily life and routine.  Getting back to normal may not be a good thing--as Christians, it may not be possible.

Here are some upcoming events on our calendar:

Church Board Meeting--Tuesday Jan. 8th at 7pm.

Bible Study--Thursday at church at 7pm.  We are studying the gospel of John.  All are welcome.

Next Sunday Pastor Dave is away with some of our high school youth on the winter retreat.  Rev. Gordon Miller, our former interim pastor, will be our guest preacher that morning.

BCC.org has implemented a new menu system, as seen above. Many options have moved from the left hand menu to this one. You siimply need to hover your house over each button and a sub-menu will drop down with additional options. This will provide us with room for further expansion of website features, and give us more room to link to them. Enjoy!
