Welcome to Bethlehem Covenant's online ministry.

The sermon this Sunday (March 23th) focused on the fact that Christ, after His resurrection, came through locked doors to be with His disciples.  They were all gathered together in a room behind closed and locked doors for fear of the authorities.  Christ not only rose from the tomb, He also was no match for locked doors.  We often try to lock our doors to Christ, but thankfully He enters into our lives anyway.

Here are some upcoming events on our calendar:

New Bible Study: Our new study on the book of Acts begins this Thursday at church at 7pm.  All are welcome to this interactive study.

Confirmation--Sunday the 30th from 4:30 to 6pm.

Welcome to Bethlehem Covenant's online ministry.

The sermon this Sunday (March 16th) asks the question: "What Do You Believe...and Why?"  Peter denies Jesus three times after previously promising that he would never desert Jesus.  A servant girl accuses Peter of being with Jesus and Peter flat out denies it.  He doesn't want to be associated with Jesus.  He doesn't stand up for what he believes in (he must have believed in Jesus since he was with Jesus for 3 years).  Do we know what we believe and why we believe it?  Are we prepared to give an answer to anyone who asks why we have the beliefs and the hope that we have?  Often it is not what we believe that is probelmatic to other people, rather it is the way we present our beliefs.

Here are some upcoming events on our calendar:

Meal with the Minister--Our next soup luncheon for this season will be held on Wednesday, March 19th at 12 noon.  Pastor Dave will provide the soup/stew, chips and drink.  If you would like to bring a dessert to share, please let Pastor Dave know.  All who can come are welcome, and if you need a ride, let us know and we can arrange that.

Maundy Thursday Service--Thursday, March 20th at .  Join us for this Holy Week service as we celebrate Holy Communion together and remember the betrayal of our Lord.

Movie Night--Our next movie night will be Saturday, March 22nd.  This is the Saturday of Holy Week and the movie will be The Passion of the Christ.  Oscar-winning actor-director Mel Gibson directs this controversial epic film that focuses on the last 12 hours of Jesus's life—from the betrayal, trial and death of Jesus to his brutal Crucifixion and resurrection from the tomb.  Starring Jim Caviezel as Jesus, Maia Morgenstern as Jesus's mother and Monica Bellucci as Mary Magdalene, The Passion is spoken entirely in Latin and Aramaic (English subtitles), and the violent crucifixion scenes are incredibly graphic.  The movie is rated R because of the violence.  This is not a movie appropriate for children.  We will meet at church at 5:30pm for pizza and begin the movie around 6pm.  Discussion time will follow.  There will be a sign up sheet in the vestry—please sign up or call to let us know if you plan to come for pizza.

Easter Sunrise Service—6:30am at Greenwood Park.  Join our friends from Quinsig United Methodist church for this early worship service.  Pastor Dave and Rev. Avis Hoyt-O’Connor lead the service.  There is also a breakfast at QUMC at 7:30am following the worship service.

Welcome to Bethlehem Covenant's online ministry.

The sermon this Sunday (March 9th) asks the question that God asks the prophet Ezekiel: "Can these bones live?"  Ezekiel is shown a vision of a valley full of dry bones.  These symbolize the people of Israel who are "dead" in their sins.  They are without hope and their souls have dried up.  Spiritually dead they certainly are.  By God's power the bones come to life--actually it is through the breath of Spirit of God that the bones are given life.  How about ourselves?  Are we like dried up bones spirtually?  How about our church?  Where do we need new life in our church?

Here are some upcoming events on our calendar:

Church Board Meeting---Tuesday, March 11th at 7pm at church.

Welcome to Bethlehem Covenant's online ministry.

The sermon this Sunday (the 2nd) is about seeing what or how God sees.  God sees the heart--too often we look simply at the externals. We need to judge others based on their heart and their intentions, not on outside appearances.

Here are some upcoming events on our calendar:

Worship Team--Monday March 3rd at 6:30pm.

Bible Study--no Bible study this week.  We will begin a new study on the book of Acts starting March 27th.

Quinsig Village Lenten Soup Supper and Worship Schedule:

Soup at 6pm, Worship at 7pm.

Wednesday, March 5th at Bethlehem Covenant with Rev. Avis Hoyt-O’Connor preaching.

Wednesday, Mach 12th at St. Catherine of Sweden.  There will be soup supper and a worship service.

Jews for Jesus Presentation—“Christ in the Passover.”

Thursday, March 6th at 6pm.  We will begin the evening with a potluck supper at 6pm and then the presentation will start at 7pm.  This sermonic demonstration is visual, so the congregation will actually see a table set with traditional Passover items.  The missionary uses Scripture as well as the visual items to walk through a Jewish Passover seder, weaving the story of the Exodus together with the life, death and resurrection of Christ.  The words He spoke in the upper room come alive as each Hebraic item is carefully explained.

Welcome to Bethlehem Covenant's online ministry.

The sermon this Sunday (the 24th) asks the question, "Are You Thirsting for Jesus?"  The text is the story of the Samaritan woman at the well in John chapter 4.  Jesus promises her living water--He says He can give her "water" that will truly quench her thirst.  He is referring to the Holy Spirit.  Do we thirst for Jesus?
