Welcome to Bethlehem Covenant's online ministry.

This Sunday's sermon is entitled, "When God Refuses to Listen."  The sermon is from Isaiah chapter 1 and is about hypocritical worship.  God is upset with the people because they do all sorts of "religious" actions, but these actions are not genuine.  They say one thing and then do another.  They go to "church" regularly and then the rest of the time they do not love one another, they do not show compassion, mercy and justice to others.  Their worship is a facade that they hide their evil deeds behind.  God will not stand for this--we need to keep it real with God.

Here are some upcoming events on our calendar:

Welcome to Bethlehem Covenant's online ministry.

This Sunday's sermon is entitled, "Set Your Mind on Things Above."  It's a sermon on money and greed and how we as Americans especially are used to getting whatever we want--even if it means we go into debt for it.  Why are so many of us in debt and what can we do about it?  What would Jesus say about our personal and national spending habits?  He tells us to be rich toward God and not just concerned about ourselves.  We are to set our minds on things above, not the temporary things of this world.

Here are some upcoming events on our calendar:

Thursday Night Bible study this week at church at 7pm.  We are studying the Gospel of John.

Welcome to Bethlehem Covenant's online ministry.

This Sunday's sermon from Colossians chapter 2 is entitled, "Freedom from Human Regulations."  Too many people believe Christianity is just a list of do's and don'ts.  And often the church has helped perpetuate this stereotype because we in churches (as with other organizations) tend to make up our own set of rules and expectations.  The problem is, many of them have nothing to do with being a follower of Jesus.  What "man-made" rules do we live by that have nothing to do with our Christian faith and in fact may hinder the way others see our faith expressed?

Here are some upcoming events on our calendar:

Welcome to Bethlehem Covenant's online ministry.

Today's sermon from the book of Amos is a prophetic warning against the people of Israel because of her treatment of the poor in the land.  The rich and some of the merchants are opressing the poor and cheating the poor.  This should not be, and God tells the people through His messenger Amos that this will bring judgment on the land.  God is love but God is also concerned about justice and what is right and the loving Judge will bring judment if that is what is needed to turn the people to repentance.

Here are some upcoming events/announcements on our calendar:

Welcome to Bethlehem Covenant's online ministry.

Today's sermon is on a well-known passage of the Bible: the parable of the Good Samaritan.  The main issue is not so much why the Samaritan man stopped to help, but the fact that he did.  He did something.  He put his faith (or at least his convictions) into action and so must we.  Christ commands us not only to believe but also to act on the basis of our beliefs.  We are not only to worship God but also to work with God in God's world.  The Christian faith is active, not passive.  Christians are those who actively respond to the world as Christ has acted toward us.

Here are some upcoming events on our calendar:

Bible study--this Thursday at church at 7pm.  We are studying the Gospel of John.  All are welcome.
