Welcome to Bethlehem Covenant's online ministry.

Last Sunday's sermon was called, "The Fellowship of the Suffering."  The Apostle Paul writes to Timothy and tells him to "join with me in suffering for the gospel" (2 Tim. 1:8).  Churches should be a place where the suffering, those going through pain and difficulties, can find fellowship and support.  Churches are in part "the fellowship of the suffering" if they are doing what they are supposed to do.  We are to minister to those in need and we can use the suffering and pain we have gone through to help others get through it as well.

Here are some upcoming events on our calendar:  

Bible Study--Thursday Oct. 11th at 7pm.  We are studying the gospel of John.

Youth Group--Wed. Oct. 10th.  Meet at church at 6:30pm.  We will be going to Clark University for a presentation there.

Confirmation Class--this Sunday the 14th from 4:30 to 6pm at church.

Movie Night--Sat.  October 13th at 6pm.  We will meet at church for pizza at 6 and movie at 6:30.  The movie this month is called "Saved!"  The movie is rated PG-13.  Discussion to follow the movie.

Potluck Supper and Concert--Sat. Oct. 27th.  The potluck will begin at 5:30 and the concert by Shiloh will begin at 7pm.  Shiloh is a five piece acoustic band.  See their website for more info: www.shiloh-band.com.  A free-will offering will be taken to support this ministry of music.

This Sunday's sermon was called, "Pray for All Because Christ Died for All."  The Apostle Paul writes: “I urge, then, first of all,” he says, “that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness” (1 Timothy 2:1).  This means we are to pray for all leaders of all countries, even those who are our real or imagined enemies.  Jesus tells us to pray for our enemies, to bless those who persecute us.  That's hard stuff.  It's not natural for us--it goes against everything society teaches us.  But it is the Christian thing to do.

Welcome to Bethlehem Covenant's online ministry.

This Sunday's sermon was entitled, "Jesus Came Only for Sinners."  It examines our sinfulness but also our invaluable worth in the sight of God.  We are imperfect creatures, that is for sure, but we are also created in the image of God.  We are at the same time saints and sinners.  We need to be honest with ourselves, with God and with each other.  Let's stop pretending we have our life altogether--we don't!  And that's why we need Jesus and why we need the support of our church family.  Jesus is gracious enough to meet us where we are, but He loves us too much to let us stay there.  Amen to that!
